Day 1 Beijing – Hohhot by train
Transfer to Beijing West Railway station to take overnight train K89 22:15 – 07:10+1 to Hohhot.
Day 2 Hohhot —Xilamuren Grassland B.L.D
Pick you up from Hohhot railway station at 7:10 am and Drive to Xilamuren Grassland (1.5 – 2 hours). Visit local herdsmen’s house, taste milk tea and diary food. Enjoy specialty lunch at local Grassland restaurant. Then make a short trip to the Aobaos (rock mounds that are often festooned with flags for worship), enjoy horse racing and wrestling performance.

Day 3 Xilamuren – Hohhot city sightseeing – Datong B.L.D
Drive back to Hohhot. Visit tourist attractions including Inner Mongolian Museum, Dazhao Temple, Five-pagoda Temple and Xilitu Temple. After dinner, transfer to train station to take train T322/T323 18:42 – 22:15 to Datong. Pick you up from hotel in Datong and transfer to hotel.
Day 4 Datong – Taiyuan B.L.D
This morning, drive to visit famous rock-cut grotto groups Yungang Grottoes. Then continue your trip to the Hanging Temple. The temple is built on the steep cliff and is considered one of the world’s top ten most odd dangerous buildings in the world. Move on to visit the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda. Then travel to Taiyuan and overnight there.
Day 5 Taiyuan- Pingyao – Beijing B.L
This morning, depart your hotel for Ancient Pingyao City. Pingyao was the “China’s Wall Street” from the 17th to 19th century. You will find ancient banks, exchange houses and grand residences still in their their original status. Then drive to visit magnificent Qiao Family Mansion, which was the residence of the famous Shanxi Merchant, Qiao Zhiyong. Afterwards, transfer to Taiyuan to take bullet train to Beijing G614 18:32 –21:40. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.
