Beijing Great Wall Hiking Tips
- There are many sections in Beijing for hiking lovers. Badaling, Juyongguang and Mutianyu are most easily visited sections. While Jinshanling, Gubeikou and the vertiginous Simatai require a full day’s outing. Beijing also has many wild sections and the most famous one is Jiankou Great Wall which features unique style, steep mountains and beautiful scenery.
- The best time to hike the Great Wall is in spring and autumn. May, September or early October is usually sunny, with comfortable temperatures.
- Bring a back pack filled with all camping gear (tent, mats, sleeping bag), food (dinner, breakfast) and water you need for Great Wall camping trip.
