In the morning, pick you up from hotel in Chengdu, head to Dujiangyang Irrigation System, which is 70 km northwest of Chengdu. This great irrigation system was constructed by Li Bing, a local official over 2,200 years ago. Today it still functions properly in draining off floodwaters, irrigating farms and supplying water to over 50 cities.
Depart from Dujiangyan and head to visit the spectacular Qingcheng Mountain. You will marvel at well preserved Taoist temples and secluded tranquility. Hike up the mountain and stop at various temples along the way, and learn how the building styles were influenced by Tang and Qing dynasties.The descend the mountain on foot or by cable car (your own expense).
After exploration, return to comfortable vehicle and drive back to Chengdu.
