Beijing has the largest number of tourist attractions in China. Visitors can find all types of tourist spots in Beijing – historical, cultural, natural and modern.  The must see places are The Great Wall of China and Forbidden City.

A lot of independent travelers often want to know places to see in Beijing, so we create a list of entrance tickets of main tourist attractions in Beijing (北京/ Peking) and hope it can make you Beijing sightseeing easier.

Forbidden City (Palace Museum / 故宫)

Admission Fee: CNY 40 (Nov. 1 to the next Mar. 31); CNY 60 (Apr. 1 to Oct. 31)
CNY 10 for the Treasure Gallery; CNY 10 for the Clock and Watch Gallery

Opening Hours: (Closed on Mondays)

8:30 to 16:30 (Nov. 1 – the next Mar. 31); tickets not available after 15:30 and last entry at 15:40.
8:30 to 17:00 (Apr. 1- Oct.31); tickets not available after 16:00 and last entry at 16:10.

The Forbidden City limits the daily number of visitors to 80,000, and we recommend individual visitors book tickets in advance online at https://gugong.ktmtech.cn/ (only Chinese version available). Foreign visitors are required to provide passport numbers and full names when book tickets online. For details, visit http://en.dpm.org.cn/visit/tickets/.  If  you do not have online reservation, please visit the site in the morning, there are usually tickets available in the morning.

The Mutianyu Great Wall ticket office is 3 kilometers away from the entrance of the wall. There are shuttle buses between them. Ticket price is CNY 10 for one way and CNY 15 for round way.

Simatai Great Wall (司马台长城)

Admission Fee: Adults (including children above 1.5M)  CNY40; Children (1.2-1.5M)  CNY20; Free for children below 1.2M

Note: In order to protect the Great Wall and let visitors have a safe and pleasant tour, Simatai Great Wall limits the daily visitors to be maximum 1,200 tourists in normal days. Tourists can make an online reservation 1-10 days in advance at http://www.wtown.com/index.php/Yuyue/great_wall_reservation, Reservations tourists can take free shuttle bus to the Great Wall at 10:00am, 12:00am, 2:00pm. The shuttle bus back time is at 12:30、13:30、15:30、16:30. Visitors without advance reservation are not guaranteed to get the tickets.

Jinshanling Great Wall (金山岭长城)

Note: Ticket-selling stops about half an hour before the closing time. In low season (Nov. 1 – the next Mar. 31), the opening time is half an hour later and the ticket stopping time and closing time are half an hour ahead of the above schedule.
