Details:

Guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby from 7:30–8:30am, head to the entrance gate of Zhangjiajie National Park (张家界国家森林公园). Your day tour kicks off.

You will first visit Yuanjiajia (袁家界). you will be lifted up to the mountain top by Bailong Elevator (百龙天梯 fee included), the elevator is built on the side of a cliff and is the world’s highest outdoor elevator, at 326 meters.  You will visit the Enchanting Stage（迷魂台） and  enjoy fabulous views of the towering pillar-like rock formations which inspires to create the floating Hallelujah Mountain in the movie Avatar. You’ll also see the No. 1 Bridge Under Heaven (天下第一桥), a natural bridge which stretches precariously between two mountains over a deep chasm.

Enjoy Chinese style lunch at a local restaurant at your own expense, or you can just take some snacks for a quick lunch .

After lunch, head to Tianzi Mountain (天子山). It is located in the northern part of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Tianzi Mountain stands at 1,262 meters above the sea level, the highest peak in the area, where you will have a stunning views of cloud seas, jagged peaks, deep valleys and magnificent wild scenery which changes appearance with the seasons. You’ll also visit Helong Park (贺龙公园) where you’ll find a large bronze statue of the Great General Helong who did a great job in China’s Liberation.

After that, you way get down via cable car (for an extra charge at RMB72/person), or your can take on a challenge to hike all the way down through the south gate (about 6000 steps). When the tour finishes, you will have a chance to learn Chinese tea culture as well as taste the local tea to relax and fresh up yourself. Afterword, driver will send you back to your hotel. Tour finishes around 5:30pm.

Charming Western Hunan Show  –  also know as Charming Xiangxi Show (魅力湘西). This fantastic local culture show will impress you deeply with ethnic folk culture, featured local songs, dances and acrobatics performed by members of the Tujia and Miao ethnic minority groups, dressed in all their traditional finery. The performance displays local customs such as “wedding lament”, “corpse driving”, witch crafts, climbing the knife mountain, crossing the fireplace, reflecting the original culture of West Hunan.
